Theater Arts as a Medium for Communicating COVID19 Protocols among Secondary Schools in Benue State, Nigeria

The study surveyed theatre arts medium that could be used to communicate COVID 19 safety protocols students and teachers in Boarding Secondary Schools (BSS) Day (DSS) Benue state. population comprised all the three Educational Zones (A, B C) of State. sample consists 120 1,600 randomly selected from 36 boarding day secondary schools area. Teachers Awareness Inventory (SSTAI) Students (SSSAI) were for data collection. instruments validated by two experts, one Theatre Arts Test Measurement. reliability coefficient was determined using Cronbach alpha internal consistencies obtained as 0.70 0.68 respectively. collected analyzed simple percentages based on frequency count well mean. findings revealed only 41.5% 36.6% BSS DSS are aware mediums such as; dramatic debating clubs, cultural dance, art festivals, miming communicating protocols. Similarly, 2.5% 2.1% same medium. also discovered although subjects offered a great extent, both practice less extent with total means 2.38 2.14 which not actually avail opportunity use communication. Based findings, recommended that; School owners, administrators stakeholders education should ensure drama, Quiz dances, music craft just entertainments, but meaningful communication when need arises. Government other relevant agencies attend excursions outfits regularly, tutors employed adequate provision teaching halls aids costumes various cultures aid teaching/learning (rehearsals) arts.
